  13. Hawaiian with Surfers Scoop Indy '66...is that a '65 Z16 Chevelle?

  14. Don't think that's a Z16. If I remember correctly the malibu SS emblem that's on the rear quarter is on the front fender behind the wheel where the one in the photo looks like it has a 327 V emblem. The 396 emblem was in front of the wheel opening by the headlight.

No, looks like a ‘64 283 car, those only had a simple V, 327’s had crossed flags. In 1965 the engine emblems went to the front of the fenders. Z-16’s also had the mag wheel look wheel covers.

Needed a bigger pump and Keith talked to Hilborn and they made a bigger pump but said they didn't want to see it with a Enderle inj.

    And this...

So I bought a 4 hole upright injector. But the scoop wasn't going to arrive till the next day and we wanted to make a run. So I talked to Tom Jobe and they weren't going to run that day and loaned me their scoop.

    Hello,

“Leonard Harris bought the former Ostling & Argento Fiat Competition Coupe with the intention of building a blown Olds engine for it. It was the start of the total sponsorship of the Oldsmobile motor of Gene Adams, the sponsorship of Albertson Oldsmobile dealer, Leonard Harris driving and drag racing.” WDIFL

This combination was good for consecutive straight wins in top eliminator in the summer of 1960 in the new Chassis Research K-88 dragster frame. The win streak was the top story in the consecutive weeks of racing in So Cal.

“There was all kinds of commotion after our Willys was on fire, heading for the spectator’s fence. The whole dragstrip was closed for the early evening at 9:30 pm with tons of elimination races to go, including the win streak of the Albertson Olds, gas dragster, of 12 straight wins. My brother was loaded onto the white ambulance and was taken to the LB Memorial Hospital.”

“The Albertson Olds FED was instrumental in making 12 straight win at Lions in the 1960 era. On the night of August 6, the streak was interrupted by the early closing of Lions Dragstrip due to an explosion, resulting fire, and crash of a C/Gas Willys Coupe. The next race was supposed to be the Albertson Olds FED going for win number 13 at the staging area.”

The big Oldsmobile motor of Gene Adams was taken out of the blue fiat competition coupe and put into the new Chassis Research K-88 frame.

Gene Adams and Leonard Harris got acquainted when Adams dropped his powerful, blown Oldsmobile engine into Harris’s new Competition Coupe Class Fiat.

Drag cars in motion: One of the only action films of the Albertson Oldsmobile Fiat Competition Coupe in motion.

After Leonard Harris was no longer with the drag racing community, Bixby Knolls local, Tom McEwen drove the coupe for a while. Then, he took over the record setting dragster with some chassis modifications.

Not an Altered Coupe, but a Competition Coupe designation. Despite the Fiat body style. It has been mistaken many times as an Altered Coupe.
