Trying to predict what you'll put in the shaft center is a bit tricky, but I'm thinking I'll get it wrong......

Are you going to cut threads on the rod ends and tap the drag link center tube so you can adjust the length?

Very sexy design and excellent execution.

On the windshield I think I'd be tempted to use a center mounted flip-up "monocle" style.

Your cowl steering design is hauntingly familiar.

  6. Got it outside over the weekend for a better look, finished off the steering, detailed the motor and began mounting the rear fuel tank.
Picked up some market place lockers for tools and came home with some early cycle parts and some SW gauges 2E2E8DD3-7200-47F7-9574-363ABFBD8A61.jpeg D2CF9E95-046E-490A-AAF8-D059E7166F2A.jpeg B0568BD4-0B37-4020-A78A-97651B6F3D9C.jpeg BA9492C4-57F8-4986-B17D-EC8729721F4A.jpeg 26C58B7B-BD74-4CCE-8D2D-B83B640B5A6B.jpeg 4421292B-E835-4DB1-8F0D-CEA77F4680FB.jpeg EC2AD826-C92C-4D9A-9D49-4AF83F45126A.jpeg 0D10D79E-C7B4-4E6A-ACCC-7185C98B60E1.jpeg

Those bends look very vintage and appear to match perfectly, if you bent them sand filled with heat, then you're a very clever boy!

  11. Well my man Wayne nailed it sand bending the exhaust, seriously outstanding work and was great to work along side him and learn a few tricks. I picked up the car and got it back to the shop, I managed to get them all square and parallel, (what a mission) then I used some fender mounts. Cut them and bent them up to make mounts each side, after that a cut them all the 45 and flared the ends. Tomorrow I will finished off welding and blending the flanges and get them off to get nickel plated! 698417D8-004F-4B57-9886-1091995CF3B5.jpeg 23290DD0-673E-40D7-B59D-6A710CF3AECE.jpeg ECD87010-4D9A-4700-88C6-F46AF6E2F353.jpeg D4F72FF8-A602-4B41-9EF0-3EEB62DEE1D1.jpeg E28F19BF-2733-4A75-A76F-90DD12E06A24.jpeg 90A647AB-DC92-40AF-846F-1EB81A6D00A9.jpeg D4BD0FEC-F5AA-40B7-9C5A-375AE28CE29E.jpeg 8D36F171-372F-46F1-B3BE-B995AAC39EB7.jpeg C143D169-053A-49D6-B460-554DDC448468.jpeg 891208CF-49BE-4C35-A1F0-7B5DBB074821.jpeg F629FB32-A7E5-4E44-B4DE-24F2E7D3427D.jpeg EDD5FC28-1B39-4A33-A4D8-E2A76A4E5F0A.jpeg

Would love to see a full left side shot with the exhaust and drag link installed.
You've really got an eye for making everything flow.

That looks like a LandRover steering box to me, it should work well. I used one for my cowl steering, the low ratio allows for a much longer pitman arm (mine is 12") for really quick steering but with almost no effort.

Out on the track you won't be worrying about bump steer. But if you do, that box will allow a much longer pitman arm to help lessen the kink in the drag link and lower the actual slope between the ball joints.

After all that I do hope it is an LR box! o_O

  26. Yup you’re correct, had it laying here for ages- works well, luckily I have no bump steer at all which is a bonus! Just gotta dial in the Ackerman and we’re off!

Great tribute to yesteryear! (I have a 21 stud complete engine with firing order on the head, just like this.)
The body profile has just enough 'shoe horn' in rear, really like the fit of the tank below!
The front fender irons just finished the lovely 'trout mouthed' pipes... I'm using the same forged brackets for headlight mounts on my street roadster...
    Truly inspiring work!
