Kinda reminds me of a modernistic sculpture of a T. Rex.:eek: Nice work. :)

Update, for those that might care..
Made the appointment with my buddy today. I'm taking the truck to his shop Friday (the soonest he can get at it), and it will get primed Monday morning. We are going to sand the high build primmer there, and it will get painted sometime next week.

My shop clean up starts tomorrow! I'll see if I can post a few pics of the beast in as is condition. I'll have to get creative, the wheels are off topic for this site.

Maintenance project. My Interstate took a crap, on my main fun car . Mid year battery placement, was not one of their better ideas! I will be back to banging gears shortly… 0E47C15A-40E6-4E73-85A3-7FC34BC67732.jpeg FBD00DF6-BFE0-49DB-88DD-8BF22B5F7BFB.jpeg

Now that my merc is running and most of the bugs are worked out on my Model A Roadster. I'm going to start working on my 33 Ford Pick Up. I picked up a 59AB flathead awhile back, bought a gasket kit and going to tear down the flatty.Still need water pumps, distributer,39 trans and carb kits. Have most of the parts for hydraulic brakes.[IMG]

I've gotten two days in a row in the shop rebuilding the first 283 I've done in probably 40 years. Got the rings on without the aid of a ring expander but my thumbs are really sore. Tomorrow, the cam and valve train go in unless the wife comes up with a different game plan. That is not Chevy Orange, by the way. Tractor Supply had a whole bunch of whatever color Rustoleum this is for $5.00 a can so I bought it all. 20220803_152603.jpg

Patching up the second fender that was in the body shop when it burned down.

    Here is the rough fit.

    The other fender is done.

I would have done more on this one, but I ran out of steam.

Body work is done, as far as I'm concerned! Rolled it outside and washed the body dust off this afternoon. Heading to my buddy's shop tomorrow to get primmer and then paint, starting Monday.

Had a bit of a scare last weekend on the way home from a cruise. Pulled off the freeway exit and began to hear a metallic noise from the engine bay! I immediately looked down at oil and temp gauges, and both were fine. Pulled over once I was off the ramp and left it idling to see what was happening. The noise got quieter, and inconsistent, instead of like it was moving where it seemed rpm related.
Walked up to the driver's side and looked through the open side of my '39's hood and it seemed to be coming from the water pump! Walked around to passenger side and it was louder, but still near the water pump. Then I saw it. The polished stainless overflow tank for the radiator had broken the top mount off, and the tank had leaned over just enough to touch the fan blades! I wedged it over behind a support, and drove the few blocks home. Got out Sunday morning and fabricated new brackets to relocate it, and be sturdier too.
Since I had an issue with bad pushrods, and had to tear the top end apart a month ago, I'd just gotten comfortable thinking all was great when this noise appeared. So kinda freaked me out at first.
