I'm in the Rambler 20 miles out of Bakersfield and need a wheel bearing replaced when I get there. I don't know which wheel bearing it takes. If you can help please give me a call 520 456-6428
Hey @Moriarity, I'm not sure pinning this emergency post is a good idea. I can't speak for others, but I tend to skip the pinned posts, since they change so infrequently. Might be better to leave the post on the main board and let people bump it for attention. I'd also suggest changing title to indicate it's the Rambin, Man aka squirrel seeking aid.
ok I unpinned this because some think there is better visibility, make sure to keep this bumped for Jim
Squirrel I sure hope it all works out. This reminds me of all the NOS bearings I have in the top of the shop.
On the side of the road with a bumper jack. Ol' school......I love it!! Good luck and keep us updated!
It looks like Jim made it to the right place, by their website they can handle just about anything chassis wise. He should be right there by the red dot if he hasn't got it back together and on the road.
That’s one thing that always gets changed on my junk. I’m always terrified of one locking up on the road.
Glad you got it back together but Damn, I had visions of you getting busted by the California law for working on your car in the street. I hope this is the worst that happens on this trip and all the luck in the world for the remainder. Did you get a card or anything with that shop's name on it? They deserve a "Well Done" from the guys following you on your trip.
Chester Ave Brake is a very old and reputable shop in Bakersfield. They have or can get a lot of the older stuff or reline your shoes. Someone gave you good advice glad it worked out for you.
Bravo ! That Rambler is the TIMEX of A.M.C. " Takes a lickin and keeps on Tickin " There is adventure around every corner !
...He drives a LOT...and many are long forgotten memories so that plays in the cards...but if there is anyone who you'd want along for a ride in a unforeseen breakdown @squirrel would be the one... ...secondly this diverse, connected bunch of Hambers are a great avenue for help...
