I loaded up and went to the Vintiques NW nationals in Yakima Wa Saturday and while it wasn't as hot as Pendleton the week before it was still very warmish. I bought a water from one of the swap meet vendors and a gent who had his very nice 55 Chevy there who just happens to be my first 3 year student from when I taught auto mechanics in high school handed me an ice cold bottle of water. I got in a visit with Riley of Rocket's hot Rod Garage and he had a couple of his builds on display . I've known him since he was a Grin on Mike's face and a bump on his mom's shirt. This is going to be a slow load and will take a while. That Black 61 Pontiac Ventura was the model that was my dream car when I was 51 years old, the only thing different for me was that I wanted Hondours Maroon. Still one of the best looking 60 somethings out there. View attachment 5478440
The Crosley wagon was rather interesting but I couldn't find a price or number on it. The Chopped 42 Mercury coupe belongs to a local long time rodder who has built a string of nice cars over the past 40 something years. It might be a good thing I don't have a bunch of money laying around right now. I saw that one at another swapmeet a couple of months ago and the hard work is done.
OOPs tried to load too many photos at one time, here are the other shots of the 42 Merc. Then a Merc bumper hiding on a trailer in the swap meet area.
The Blue 33 Coupe with the blower had been to more of the Vintiques shows than I can count. I did 25 in a row and I think he has many more than that.
This is the tail end of it. My knees hurt and I wanted to go some place that was cool and comfortable and have a Bale Breaker and something to eat.
There were plenty on Asphalt. That Grass area to the south of the Sundome is larger than the area where the cars were at Pendleton. Every year the club tries to direct the cars to where they want them in tidy lines and every year it ends up with cars ever which way before the day is over.
