Not directly into a given cylinder though.

I’ve seen that while in Taiwan. Guys out in a small boat, they’d drop a big net then toss a stick in the water. Boom, then pull up the net full of fish.

They do , or did exist . I know pile driving machines work with gun powder . Watched a pier being built in the 80’s in Myrtel beach with one . Load but relaxing. Bang, thunk, bang , thunk , bang , thunk really slow n rhythmic .

Not like gun powder in a I/C engine.

This thread is entertaining, the sound of the English comic ( can’t recall his name) used to say “brilliant “.
I gotta go YouTube it. Lol

Edit: not English, but Scottish. Billy Connelen. (Sp)

This is definitely true, but I'm also not going to fire up an engine with a spent firecracker laying in the bore, either. The head is coming off no matter what. But once the head is off, you've lost your chance of doing the hydraulic grease thing (unless you want to put it all back together with the old head gasket and hope for a seal). If the OP is hoping to get the piston un-stuck without breaking it, that would be tough once the head is off. The grease puts even pressure on, beating on the piston head is likely to break it.

I agree, check my later reply, “indirect “ beating on the piston.
More than likely doesn’t matter, if stuck, to get it right will need to be bored.
That said, I did do an old forklift engine that left several deep ridges in the walls, smoked a bit now and then, I’m sure the rings finally gave up afterwards, but my cousin never said anything about it.
Oh, should mention I just used emery cloth as hone.

  9. Starting a Field Marshall tractor with a 12 gauge shotgun shell. The real fun starts at about 45 seconds in.

I like that the OP joined 11 years ago and this was what he decided on for his first post.
Whatever method you use, remember to video it.

Maybe he has been trying to unstick the engine for 11 years, and is now getting a little bit frustrated and desperate...

Since you don't know for sure which piston is stuck, I suggest a firecracker in each cylinder possibly proceeded with a little black powder.

  17. Be sure to light the firecrackers in the correct firing order!

  18. And keep the #5 and 7 fuses separated so they don’t crossfire.

Just use a grease gun. Modify a spark plug to accept a zerk and pump away.

might break something, but maybe not.

By the way, the name of the starting unit, that you see operated in the Jimmy Stewart film, "Flight of the Phoenix" is known as a Coffman starter.

This has been very entertaining to say the least !

"Probably into orbit" if you use C-4 to blow the engine instead of using the engine to blow a C4 :D

Coca Cola contains .30% phosphoric acid. I wonder if a higher concentration of phosphoric acid would be even more effective or if the other ingredients in Coke play a part in freeing stuck parts? I know we used to use Coke to free tractor and truck tires. It was also good for getting those damn split rims apart so they would have a chance to kill you when you got them back together and put the air to them.
As a part of the "Pepsi Generation" I can think of no better use for Coke!
