    Hello,

After driving around in a Flathead powered 1940 Ford Sedan delivery for 5 years and 1000s of miles, no thanks of any reminders of a lack of power. Yes, a lack of teenage money could have been the cause for more horsepower from the experts at Reath Automotive for a bigger, multi-carb flathead motor. But having some kind of fun all going all over So Cal coastline was definitely worth it.

But, no, I would not have it on my dash. Plus there is/was no room. perhaps a flashing wall plaque or gift for a wall hanging in the garage might do it...

It would take a serious Flathead person to actually install it anyway... When I showed it to my wife, she just laughed and said, "No way !!!"

It is a good thing our next 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery was a 327 powered SBC motor for cruising comfort and more power!!! Maybe, that flathead display would be a rear compartment wall display hanging of those anxious slow motion times in 2nd gear and sometimes, 1st gear going up those steep coastal hills and long grades. But, certainly, not on the dash.

The fins look too "busy", so (thanks blowby) a plain Ford V8-60 head (or after market with the fins milled down to sticking out less than 1/16"?) might work?

I’m in agreement with the guys saying no thanks.
    Just looks odd.

Meh. A swing and a miss. But I applaud the attempt.

It looks heavy and out of place to me. To each his own.

It has shock value, at first I thought “ too much”….but then I went back and looked at it fir a while….. and it kinda grew on me! Just a little! Excellent effort, though!

A bit to big and heavy . But hey to each his own .

Better then the guys who use a chunk of aluminum diamond plate and call it custom

I'd give him an A for effort. Too big and too busy. The rest of the dash is just lost.

The idea has potential. If it were smaller, like the size of a licence plate.
Would be fun to make a Pattern and cast one. Doesn't have to be hollow.
Wonder how it would look with black or chrome instrument bezels?

That got me to thinking! Why not put an open toilet seat hanging from the headliner? Hit a couple of bumps and have your head up your ass.

  16. No, thanks.

Right in line with pistons used as taillight housings, IMO.

A mini head as a gauge holder would be a cool idea in my opinion as well.

Ok, this is kind of like having a "Mancave" sign or an emblem that says "Hot Rod". If you need to have a sign, it ain't one.......

I'd prefer an actual dash insert.
    Or no insert.

I call you with your Ardun and raise you a twin-cam Offy.

Check out the 97 carburetor gas filler in the trunk!
