Does anybody know what has been done to the ass end of the car to get the quarter panels to fit the wheels like this? Has the very back of the car been widened to get rid of the taper? A stock stude crowds the tire at the raar of the wheel opening and has a bigger gap at the front.
This coupe was turned into some kind of dune buggy . . . www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnDPSinXBi8&feature=youtu.be
What a stunner! Does anyone happen to know which issue of R&C this was in? I think this is the “Sublime Stude” but I can’t find any info on the car. Just a few pictures.
I will add a picture of my 53, not as nice (or fast) as the Vintage Air Stude or the Lidgett car (and the car has went over 300 MPH) but I don't have quite as much money in mine either
Gary Gerberding's Studebaker. I couldn't find the Rod & Custom issue thi smorning but here's an article I found: https://www.fenderbender.com/articles/3214-remaking-the-green-hornet
I LOVE the back window in Jim Lynch's coupe.. I've been looking for that car for 20 yrs..I'd buy t n a hartbeat!!
I first met Terry Hunt's "Gaum Bomb" at the 50 annual Bonneville Speed week event. Back then I was shooting 35mm film so I don't have a good scanner to share pictures. Back then it was still is very patina-d Studie yellow. But as you see the stance is PERFECT. Terry's craftsmanship stood out then as now some 2-3 owners later. This small block chevy powered monster has many 200mph records for all who have driven this jewel. This color and stoke roof line is amazing. I have lots of picture of this 1.
