    I started going back in the early 80's and have been all over the US to this NSRA show. I have had my fill of 80's rusted out Chevy Suburbans. If I wanted to see this crap I would drive thru the parking lot at Wal Mart.

    The nationals look a lot more like the locals . but since I live near I will be there for 5 days. I have some new parts to pickup from Early Ford & am really looking forward to the swap meet . it is not what it used to be but I am pretty sure I will have a great time . Plan on driving my 32 5 window & 41 convert how bad could it be

    Nope. First went to the Nats in '71. Made several thru the years. Just not the same after they opened it up. I think you can have fun without me.

    My son and I are going to Saturday.

    But I will say, I totally agree with everyone's sentiment about the late models or the opening up of years or whatever you want to call it. I hate it! I'm sure my son will get tired of me complaining about it. I'm primarily going for the swamp meet and vendors now. Don't get me wrong, I'll check out the cars outside to but its not the same. I've been going since I was a kid in the mid 80's and missed a couple of years recently because of C-19, but its been a birthday (Aug. 5) tradition for me and not going seems to bother me more than the newer crap they let in now.

    Spec: Thanks, those displays of my products were a lot of work for a one man band but over the years they paid off. Sometimes I miss doing those but then I come to my senses.

    I am planning on it if I can get my health to come around. Other than Back to The 50's and I'm sure there are others they have all moved the cut off up. Nothing is the same as it was whether we like it or not. NHRA, NASCAR all of the stuff I loved has changed. Some I have moved along with, others I just let go. Not going to have a pity party just go and have a good time seeing old friends and some neat cars that I like. Pass by the others.

    Some of you have to learn to just WALK BY the cars you’re not interested in instead of
    “ I’ll show you NSRA, you changed the cut off year for entry so I’ll stay home”
    Here’s a few pre49 only events, Frog Follies in Evansville Indiana.August26-28 this year.
    This will be 47th year for this great charitable event. Fairgrounds have plenty of shade trees,big swap,vendors,the food is more than reasonable and Saturday nite free dinner for participants, and more family fun included. Sponsored by E’ville Iron Street Rods Ltd.
    In October (14-16) there’s the Fall Color Run in Quincy Illinois also pre 49 only put on by the
    Early Tin Dusters, the 46th annual this year and registration is FREE as always.( Donations accepted) which raises money for Camp Callahan.com (for info);
    Parking on the downtown streets of Quincy on Saturday then Sunday to Moorman Park.
    For more info go online or to their FB pages.
    Get out and drive your cars, life is short...........rant over.

  26. I'll be going, taking the 52 GMC (see avatar pic).

    I would much rather see nice '50s/'60s customs and muscle cars vs early rat/crap rod shit.
