Thanks to the advice I received from my previous thread asking about ARDUN help and contacts, my buddy Noel is well on his way to building an ARDUN flathead for his 32 roadster. Noel asked me if I knew how many ARDUN powered hot rods are being driven on the street. I have no idea but I thought it would be fun to ask here on the HAMB and let everyone venture a guess.

Check out Ronnie Roadster on here and the Ford Barn. He is the quintessential Ardun roadster owner.

Noels short block is at my shop going to help him complete his dream. To answer your question about how many are being driven on the street I think a guess would be easily 50 or so. I know mine is a daily driver when the weather allows since I usually drive top less that's the roadster of course no top. ;) Another interesting question would be how many are original ARDUNs not the repro heads that figure would be interesting. At this point I think my original ARDUN is the highest milage of them all but that's. only due to me growing so old. :D

  8. These 2 Arduns were cruising the grounds at the latest Lone Star Roundup in Austin held a few months ago. The 32 —3 window had the cherriest body I have ever seen on a hot rod. What ever happened to Dick Blaine's red 32 roadster with an Ardun? I used to see that one around in the 80's. I bet it had a lot of miles on it.

Mike's Coupe and your Roadster are the only ARDUN powered cars I ever rode in.

I have only ever seen a FORD flathead V8, with an Ardun OHV conversion (including Ronnie's!)

Didn't get a ride in any of them.

Dave Lukkari's flathead with Ardun Crosley was street driven. Dave passed away and I don't know where car is now.

Lukkari's Ardun engine was installed in his 29 RPU. He still drove it, as I remember seeing it in Des Moines once, and he was from the west coast.

Noel called me yesterday and is pretty excited about the project. He is hoping to have the ARDUN done and the roadster running so he can show it at the Vintage Torque Fest car show May 5th and 6th.

I have no idea but would be interesting to know. My application of an original ARDUN is a bit different in that I put it in a 1953 Ford with an auto trans and A/C. It is a first gen ARDUN and I love it. A driver when weather is clear.[

Real shame about the maroon 32 roadster up top. No longer Ardun powered. Just a ho-hum SBC in there now. One of a million.
