Bought some repro 41 ford hub caps, what do y'all think? I also scored some vintage guide fog lamps...
Pretty busy chrome there, maybe paint one ring on the hubcap the same color as the truck? Post a side shot and maybe I can photoshop what I mean.
I've actually been thinking about doing away with the chrome and having them stripped and powder coated.. try some photoshop if you want.
SO, Keeth and I just finished rebuilding the front end including dropped spindles. Its getting aligned tuesday morning, I just need to put my new front tires on and sway bar bushings. I replaced everything from cotter pin to cotter pin!!
There is a little bit of negative camber which I hope can be adjusted out Tuesday. Also here is a fun pic of the torsion bars dumped with dropped spindles...
Still driving it around! Since I posted last I have put an aluminum intake on and a Comp 270 Cam..runs WAAAY better, actually has vacuum at idle now! Next upgrade is I ordered a Gear Vendors Overdrive, should be here next week.!!
I did also trade my 85 Toyota pickup for this 63 F100, 292 Y-block with 4speed all stock. Been driving it around for a few months but I'm now working a deal on getting my Grandpa's 52 Studebaker back.
Life's been crazy since I last updated! No longer with the girl that I started this with and have updated so much to the truck I can't remember it all!
https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/heres-what-ive-been-up-to-57-ford.1232342/ Truck will be getting a new non mopar heart soon, I got a 351W and a C6 for it. I went back to a black top and am planning on reshooting the whole truck here pretty soon.
......aaaaaaaannnnnndddd you forget to mention that now you are married and a dad! Looking good John!
So some changes/progress has been made on the ol' girl. Fought some braking issues which ended up getting Master cylinder, calipers, pads, hoses and removing the prop valve in favor of some residual check valves so now it stops great! I drove it all last week..chased down some noises which were parts coming loose...(ugh) BUT My co-worker and I did a quick semi gloss black paint job this last weekend. Spent a day and a half Da-ing the thing and had to do a couple filler spreads but this thing looks great! It is much shiny-er than I was expecting.
Local show n shine yesterday. On way home the mopar electronic ignition box failed and had to push it like a block back home LOL Got it back up and running though..more reason to "un-mopar" this thing
