Smokey must have been doing some R&D for GM, note the finned 69 up Z/LT-1 rocker covers and roller rockers.

  7. It was a GM ban across all the makes, The GTO lost its tri power in 67 as well. You could make the argument it was the start of the emission pullback. It might have been kept if it had showed promise at being an over the counter part if it helped making the Z/28 run harder on a race track, but the cross ram proved to be a better option for the road racing demands over the tri power.

Also they were never going to put a hot 327 in a F body and market it, they had developed the 350 and were going to market the heck out of it since it was only going to be in a F body in 1967, I mean all Sept 66 through Jan 67 cars had the SS350 badges as the big blocks didnt come until mid January and the badging was replaced with the normal SS stuff.

These just went on the auction site for $336. I had never seen a set before.

  9. Those are modern from the guy that bought the EELCO name. Definitely not vintage and weren't made by EELCO back in the day

I wondered about that. I'm pretty old and have seen a lot. These were new to me (and I guess to everybody else too) :D

This probably isn’t the place, I’m looking for set of eelco gears for a Holley vacuum 4 barrel conversion to mech secondary, with the snake tongue squirter.

If you go sbc it will pretty much look like any other contemporary build. As every belly button generic street rod has a sbc. Engine choice is as important as wheel choice. You wouldn't fit 90s billit mags on because they are cheaper than chrome steel wheels. So don't fit a sbc because its cheap and easy like everyone does. That will make it blend into the crowd of modern street rods.

You're obviously lost my friend:D. Not your kind of thread .What do you have in your 57 chevy? Just curious.Got the balls to put a Ford FE in it ,like Roth? Or just talking the talk? I have nearly every working man's motor there is ,but I still love the little mouse...

I’m not familiar with the iron ‘292’s but still, the material above the top of the intake ports has been raised a bunch hasn’t it?
And the exhaust port flanges are much modified too.
