Planning on banging there and back in the Cabriolet. This one happens to be about the journey and the destination.
I'll be looking forward to meeting up with all you hoodlums and yes, encourage you to come regardless of registration status...

 

The 'Extended Stay' is close and I had good luck there last year after deciding to leave two days before the event with no room reservation. There were other show attendees there too...

 

Hopefully this will be back in the road by then.

 

Guess I screwed up on the hotel reservation, or rather lack of one. I called the host hotel tonight, and they never heard of me. Gonna try that extended stay.

 

@RedneckBuz how does a car/ owner get invited?
Other than registering & obviously submitting a picture of the car?

Early in the year (January or February) they put an email address on the event website. You send in a couple photos.
I had a response in about ten minutes with a link to the registration form.
Easy, but timing is everything.

 

Gary, your car very well could be worthy, just gotta send that email early.

 

Howdy Gary, At this years show we will announce the dates for 2023. We will probably open up registration for next years show on, or around Dec 1st, 2022. On our website, www.thehotrodgathering.com , there is a link to submit pics of your car(s).

 

Problem for me was by the time I found out the dates and sent in my application I couldn't find a motel room. Sure enjoyed last year but I'll just read about this years.

 

I guess I should try to find a motel room.

 

This is shaping up to be one of the premier hot rod events in the country, IMHO. on my bucket list to go.

 

maybe you should rent out a few air mattresses on your garage floor instead!

 

You guys without lodging should try Airbnb. I rented a 2 bedroom house with a garage to park my rod in Bartlesville for a fraction of the cost of a motel.

Don’t worry the house was built in the teens so it’s period correct, even the garage has a sliding barn door.
