That explains the tear drop over the engine very nice work. Are you hoping for some runs this year on the salt?

Are you also considering a trip to ElMo? Buck-Fifty takes the record there, and it is the 2nd Coolest Place on Earth!

Been busy trying to get things done on the car and in the shop. Stuff is getting done though. Headers done and ceramic coated, fire done, wiring started, belts finalized and installed as well as a bunch of other small things getting checked off the listsuppression FD7E63C8-1CD1-4F77-8774-049459180941.jpeg 2593BA6B-38CF-4169-B7F9-27042F16B238.jpeg 45686208-1B40-483E-9B44-2561BA80BDCD.jpeg 3F57C0B3-BA48-42DB-9196-A0B35521E36F.jpeg 8B7601FC-47F2-49F7-92E8-5642A292EBB7.jpeg 61C60C52-24C4-419D-816E-97D30566AFDF.jpeg 80DF1042-88D5-4E3B-96FC-E86785C05BF7.jpeg 1321E9D0-4795-4F3C-86BF-9782273F9D3C.jpeg FBEC1B43-006E-4B37-BE6A-98B18AEE83BE.jpeg F56B1D0C-E257-42D7-8210-2C72EF43EB7F.jpeg E616E7C5-A6D9-4187-AAA0-5916E8036F37.jpeg BFD97C4F-8882-40E5-BF68-BDE7A5E8E9B8.jpeg 48596949-0183-43C4-A2AE-2504E3399C96.jpeg

As someone born and bred in Geauga County I am pleased to see a serious Ohio-based LSR effort. Most LSR activity seems to be located on the West Coast.

    well done

Thanks but i wouldnt say serious. I just like to build stuff and love land speed styling. We will have to wait and see how the car performs once its done

Things have slowed up some with hitting some client cars hard and trying to get shop stuff done. But

i was not happy with the nose after getting the hood top and sides made so i cut it back apart and started reworking it

    and things are getting wired up. 678ED328-FCDC-4A74-8D67-91C275F02A70.jpeg 3DEE05F8-5979-48F2-A2D6-448649C1EE5A.jpeg 68E3D908-C556-41AC-BF85-08491C772E2F.jpeg 37D13D7D-7137-401E-9B4A-A593EE65D4ED.jpeg 39A0C79C-0DC6-45D4-A4CE-351CD47EE676.jpeg 5EA098BF-1E9C-4E8F-A9F8-C448E4760CA5.jpeg 56B511C7-02DC-40D5-80BF-1BC29315A7D2.jpeg CBCBA6F4-2F86-49C2-B086-D1DA6C5FA811.jpeg A7768EF8-D543-4D56-8CDE-E475CD0FA938.jpeg

I have two comments on your great work.

Is the flatty angled to reduce the driveshaft angle?

I like the looks of virtually every car build I see in the background of your pictures. If you ever get the time it would be awesome to see all of them in any state of completion, if you would be willing to post photos. ( I looked on your site for an album but found none.)

    Many thanks

The engine is not angled. I didnt want to cause other issues with the driveline being at different angles at each end. To solve the high angles at the universals i had custom yokes/ flanges made and and running constant velocity joints on both ends. Hopefully that solves it , at least thats what the driveline shop said is the solution.

i need to get my site back up to where it used to be with build albums and stuff. I let it fall to the way side due to facebook and IG

Thanks. I know some big luxury cars use double cardan joints to minimize driveshaft NVH issues. I did not notice that you were using them. That will work. (My champ car build also uses an angled driveshaft to deal with the pinion offset. I'm not using double CV joints but the shaft is only a foot long. I may need to use ones like you are using if it presents issues.)

I look forward to seeing your photo album.

Please consider coming to Loring Timing Association event. We race in northern Maine July 13 and August 31. We start racing on Wednesday and race through the weekend. It's a great track, timing at the mile and mile and a half. A practice track too. You'll get all the runs you need.
    Nice build by the way.

Beautiful workmanship on everything I see. Don't forget the most important fitting, the one for a GoPro or equivalent so we can watch this thing run.

Excellent work on the nose. I like the cleanness of the front end. Why not consider turning the front axle tube into a wing section by adding metal to the backside? It will have roughly 1/10 the aerodynamic drag of a round tube. You could even build in a little downforce to keep it glued down.
