That 62 is about as nice as they come in a day 2 style. Not many guys could roll up to a Corvette event or car show with a period style supercharged Corvette. Great look and great detail.

From the movie King of the mountain.
Talk about rough around the edges, I like it!
    I know, it's a 67 but should be considered "grandfathered-in" here.

I believe the Hayseed picture above is Indy 1967 and I see Sam Cunningham behind Juonis's front fender. The other red Vette behind Sam's car is familiar but I cannot place it. Ring a bell with anyone?

I have Tubular Automotive headers on my avatar car. Best sounding headers I have owned/heard. Still making headers for Vettes for all these years-amazing.

    Hello,

What do hot rod Corvettes/owners do for fun? Why, go to the local dragstrip to see some big time drag racing/racers from all over the USA. The hot set up was a bright color, red or a mild custom candy apple red color chrome wheels, some reversed, some not, traction master bars and coolness…

1959 Riverside Raceway Corvettes in the pits

What I wanted captured in this old film from 1959 around 9 am in the morning, was the Candy Apple Red Roadster sitting in pits, as we were walking around checking out the drag racers we could identify. But, not until later when we had the 16mm color film developed, did we notice the cool Corvettes in the same area of the pits.

As you can see, drag racers come prepared to do all sorts of work for the day’s drag racing event. A rolling chassis going to the panel van for its motor prep time. It takes all kinds, especially if it is a “big” event. This day was one of the biggest events for the Westcoast racers in 1959.

That's a pic of the Hayseed I haven't seen before. Nice!
So...on straight front axle cars like the Hayseed, did they use the stock steering? Or did they replace the box and make it have side or cross steering (like early Fords)?

  19. If I was doing a C2 coupe I'd replicate this car, seen the movie as a kid on TV and it hooked me.
Here's the original published article that the movie was written around.
