Built by the Higgins landing craft company after WW2 Missing the step and bows. My youngest digs it. Hopefully I can locate or recreate the bows. The canvas is a available
I found the canvas. Not very cheap but haven’t priced against bulk military tent material. We plan to use conduit to recreate the bows add pictures. Any measurements would be cool to have.
I had one years ago but it was from a different manufacturer. Didn’t camp in it much because setting it up was a pain. The water proofing at the time left much to be desired and if you had to take it down in the rain it meant setting it up again when you got home for a dry out. I ended up converting it into a carry all trailer. I have seen some home made tear drop campers using the trailer as a base. They looked pretty cool. Looks like your axle and tires could handle the weight. Mine had a very light duty axle with smaller wheels.
My son is restoring. Cj3A. He wants to pull this behind it for camping trips. I have thought about mounting a roof top camper set up in. It’s up to him. He’ll probably bend new bows and at least use a tarp over it.
Now that would be cool! I’ll bet a lot of them were pulled by surplus Jeeps in the 50s. I was using mine for hunting trips. Setting it up in sub freezing temps by myself was not a lot of fun.
