2008.

I painted this acrylic on canvas (36 x 24inch) at a show, on site. I dedicated it to my dad at that time. He'd just suffered a heart attack.

I've since painted 100's of paintings of cars. Happy Father's day.

Leland Kolb had plenty of drag race cars in the time we knew of his exploits. During the time he had this 27 T modified roadster, most of what was available for information of his exploits was before our time filming later versions at the drags.

But research does put the early white roadster as one of the earliest crab claw flames on a hot rod.

The blue “Whiz Bang” modified roadster was unusual to say the least. It gave me some challenges, but since Leland Kolb’s line of hot rod/drag race cars has always been some of our favorites, the drawing took time, a lot of design mistakes and erasures.
