A couple things. . . My shop looks EXACTLY like yours when I'm in the middle of something! Secondly, you nailed the seat-column-comfort, which is very important. Next is you are making serious progress on the 'doll', good on you

    Thanks! Appreciate it!
    Constantly learning, and Improving!
It’s not supposed to be a perfect car because I don’t want that not that I think I could do it perfectly but I could do it almost perfectly but it would take forever!
I wanted to look like a home built hot rod that somebody built in the late 60s.

When I put the tranny together the first time couldn't really figure out which way the seal went, at least it was questionable….well when I took apart the front of the tranny, to locate the leak, I decided to take it apart and get a new seal anyway since it was like six dollars, I bought a couple extra ones, which is good, because I screwed one up! So now it's the right direction and it was leaking, where that front shaft is on the bottom in the picture. I didn't see it before. I only saw the back 2
The new seal I got, you can tell that it's like a double lip, sort of, the back is kind of open just a little bit but it's covered so it fools you.
so after I work on the rear pin section with set screws like Fair lane 500 34’ trans, and more silicone on the back shaft I don't think this thing is gonna leak at all! So here’s my finished sunvisors.
Kind of textured bed liner industrial like. I was thinking of putting the old 70s and early 80s Dash Plaques on the backside, so when you fold down the visor you’ll see them, and when you flip it up they’ll be hidden. what do you think does it look too trashy?

8FE514C0-2A41-4809-A21B-AEC52A3D0653.jpeg Boy! I can’t believe how much disagreement there is about this stupid fuel pump Rod on all these forums!
    Jalopy journal Ford, Hamb, F-100,
No it won’t lose pressure! yes it will lose pressure! no it won’t squirt out the Hole! It was to be early Flathead ,no it was late flathead! Well…Fuck!
here’s my solution, since Flat Head Jack is not around anymore!
I made a plug out of aluminum tapered A little at a time smaller than the rod at bottom, and bigger at the top. ( since you can’t really measure the I.D. Of the bushing with the engine together)
Pound it in with some blue Loctite, and call it good! Yes??? No???

I have a nice OTB finned one to replace the Mechanical Fuel
    Pump, on the rear.

Finally! These floor boards and pedals were killing me! But I finally got it!
So… original insert grafted into metal floor… sandwiched original pedal Foam between, heavy duty plates traced off the original thin stuff…used 35-40 rubber bumpers… used 1/2 pipe insulation around the pedal arms… and…. Thin rubber on top under plates inside!!! Whewww!

Floorboards are now done just need to screw them down completely! Bought a brake bleeder kit, so I can do a one-man job, and not look for my neighbors, or wife to help pump the brakes. Offset the Clutch Pad.

And honoring my dad my uncle and my aunt Dolly I put things in the car here and there for their legacy. My dad and uncle are still alive, but Dolly passed probably five years ago?
So the Crowes Canyon 73 picture goes with the plaque, the rear fenders are going to be my uncles 34 where I have a picture of me as a kid, and he made these belt buckles for me back in the 70s that I decided to try and figure out what to do with. Just little things

    Opinion:

should I dye the back seat Black?
    Or just leave it?
Does it clash with my theme to much?
I love the original sea because that’s what I remember growing up and all that leg room. Which was originally
Tan. I watched a lot of videos on YouTube how to dye a black with RIT
    Dye. Doesn’t look too hard.
    Thanks

I would dye it, the fronts are different from years ago. Your efforts to keep it as it was are commendable.

All old cars leaked oil, and nobody thought about it. Today, so spoiled by new non leaking newer cars! I remember pans under some of my Dad's cars.

Throttle set-up, working good!
Had to make a 1 inch spacer to give it more swinging clearance
Had a few issues with it! (Cheap Chinese stuff these days!)
first the aluminum bulkhead broke on the throttle bracket… so I had to drill and thread it! Then the pedal is supposed to be reversible but the slot for the set screws off center, so it was really sloppy, so then I put some washers on it tried to squeeze it, and I broke the urethane bushing, but I ended up fixing it! I will probably make some Teflon/ UHMw bushings later for it.
So now that the steering, clutch, brake gas pedal, and everything set up.
I’m gonna take the seats out, and start putting the interior together, the windows and all that…and probably the top. We’ll see?

In case I need to stand up!! Getting old and crotchety you know!!!

Then I polished with three stages working my way down the car as I build it since I wanna do the top and the windows I did to the beltline

My rustoleum spray paint methods are unorthodox but I am determined to make them work!!
Few things I’ve learned so far.
Make sure you can see real good so you can get all the scratches out before you get down to the 2000 grit. Because they show up after you buff it!
And also a regular buffer even on slow speed burns it… The trick is DeWalt drill on high with the mothers orange polish ball. Use a rag to do about a 2 foot area to apply polish compound and then buff it out and small little sections

It’s magical!!!!
Had to get a new Flitz buff ball,
To use with the Flitz polish.
It ended up working better by hand rubbing in with a worn in rag, and then buffing with a clean rag in little sections. Pain in the butt,And my arms hurt!
    but the top is done!!!!

Well I had to at least polish the lower section for now until I get ready to wet sand and buffet so at least it’s shiny!!
I think I’m gonna work on the windows next and then maybe finish
    Wet sanding and buffing it
I’m kind of tired that for now!
