It looks like this coupe may make had a hard life. 67 front and 63 year. Not uncommon back in the day.

I have researched David Carroll and never knew this article existed. Do you have the continuation of the article? He ran the car at the 1980 Winternationals. Car was pretty old school with a 468, turbo 400 and with an Olds rear with Henry axles. With modified eliminator on the chopping block (1981) this pro gas Vette was what the NHRA felt was the future. Cool car.

Jason, cool video, it looks like Rats Nest, then Moroso and not sure of whose 57 but pretty cool nevertheless.

Chuck cool car. I found a few Dave Kommel pics of the car and did some research on it. Really cool car. More of a car that would fit in moreso in 1970 than 1980. Old school BBC with a turbo 400 and 4.88 gears in an Olds case with Henry axles. In 1980 when the NHRA was trying to transition to pro gas some of the old Vettes went with some wicked setups (chassis wise and aftermarket bodies etc) since the major rules were safety related and stock parts (or stockish in some instances) meant nothing like it did in the class it was to replace (modified eliminator). I really like the flip front end. Wonder if it survived?

Jim, there was a similar, though later model Vette for sale recently. This one, I assumed, was more of an altered/modified sports and just a roller. One of those that needs to be assessed in person before even considering an offer, but then again, I don't even like buying anything unless I try it on!

Wishful thinking if the truth be told. Easier if I found one turnkey. Too many projects now and too little time.

Deuces pics of Marvin Sterling's 60 Vette "Hot Canary". I was able to talk to Marvin about the car. He was a star at the 66 U.S. Nationals in that he was one of the few Vettes to win class. He had to take down "The Hayseed" to do it. He told me after Indy he wanted to set the MPH record with the car (which Dutre and Dutre held). He took the car to Atco and ended up setting the ET record for class (C/MSP) at 11.19. A really good guy and a character to talk to.

Some of you will recognize the purple car is Fred Cattaneo when he made a series of changes and ran B/G with an injected big block. Car pulled the wheels with ease.

Nice paintwork on the 67. Looks like Keystones.I had a set-always thought they were a good looking wheel.

I used Keystones on a couple of Jr. Stock cars in the days before lighter-than-OEM wheels were accepted in the my category. They were something different in a staging lane filled with Cragar S/S wheels.

Two different. The blue '67 really was a standout, small block equipped.
The dual quad 427 was in a black '66 coupe. Thanks for your comment,
    Pat.

This one is for sale for $22,500 and in in Kingston New York and the phone number is on the back license plate. Looks like magnesium wheels in the front and back. I believe that it’s the old Half Breed car out of California. They said that it used to have a 392 Hemi.

I think you are right, seem to remember seeing it in about the same condition on a trailer, for sale, at Carlsbad raceway about 20 years ago.

El you are right, it's been on here before. I know the guy that had it for sale at Rhinebeck about 4 years ago (Mike Wolfe). I don't know if it ever sold or if he still has it.

I don’t know who the owner is but the car was advertised recently for sale. I posted similar pictures of it on this thread before but thought that I would post it again since I just saw it for sale.

Irwindale, c. 1967. Probably one of the Bob Davis' stable of "Jolly Green Giant" race cars. #1 was an emerald green big block '65 Impala that started life in A/S and quickly morphed into a fuel-burning, blown, completely-gutted funny car.
