I just purchased a 36 Ford Coupe with a chev 355, auto, and power brakes. The two pedals are at such different heights, I pretty much have to use both feet to drive. Is that normal for these cars? Or do I have some work to do? Thanks!

I drive most cars with automatic transmissions with both feet. I started doing so, when I started drag racing a long time ago...the habit stuck.

also comes in handy for those old cars that don't always idle properly.

With a '36 Ford, the pedals should be able to remain in a nearly stock location.
Sounds like someone did a less than acceptable job.

  5. It's not normal..as with anything that isn't right with a used car, it needs to be corrected to meet your level of acceptance/comfortableness.
A big part of Hot Rodding is making it your own, time to get started.
