While on a junkyard stroll, I looked in the trunk of a 1971 Torino, There was a squarebore intake manifold in there, the casting number is 5751087. I assume it is Ford, since it was in the trunk of a Torino (not off that car) which was surrounded by a bunch of '59 Fords and a few early 60's T-birds. Is it anything special, is it worth going back for? It is very low rise.
5751087 Is 1958-9 Ford 332 352 FE series v-8 I have one on a 58 Ranchero in my back yard. A 58 Solid lifter engine I have has 5750034 on it. I think the one you have is a standard 4 barrel intake for that year. Heavy as hell. Not anything special, I dont think. I'd go with an aluminum one.
Well then, nothing to get excited about. My junkyard experience is that when you find something preserved in the trunk of a "failed project" it tends to be worthwhile. Otherwise a good day for manifolds. I picked up a Fenton dual intake for a 235 and a pair of Mopar Long Rams.
Oooops...forgot the first two years of FEs & a few '58-'59 Y heads/intakes are numbered like that....forget/remember something new every day.
