Technical What year is this SW tach

Need help on the year this tach was manufactured

Take the mounting bracket off and, following the model number that is visible, there should be a letter followed by a number from 1 to 12. The letter corresponds to the year & the number, the month. it's probably late 1960's.

If it has flat glass it's April of '63. If it has curved glass it's April of '39.

 

Can anyone tell me what year they went from the curved glass to the flat glass?
