I’ve a dropped tube axle for a ‘46-8 Ford I’m going to put under a ‘32 Dodge PU with parallel leaf springs.
it was side steer originally, but would like to run a cross steer box/column I have and keep it cross steer.

    Any issues?

It’s been so long since I sold my ‘42 PU, I can’t recall if it was cross or side steer.

Well Google is a good thing, I guess ‘42-7 Ford PUs are cross steer.

    Full steam ahead!

The only thing I noticed when I put cross stearing in my 1950 F1 was that it wanted to flex the bottom of frame channels in and out an uncomfortable amount. This was easly fixed with a simple solid bar from one side of the frame to the other side in the appropriate place.

Nope! Most 4 x 4 leaf spring front axles uses cross steer . Just set up the bump steer correctly

Done tons of drop axle swaps using cross steer. Only thing you'll need is different steering arms to bolt to the backing plate on the passenger side to convert to cross steer. The usual precautions of making sure everything is new or like new/tight, and set up properly. Clearance/slop issues on any beam or tube axle always lead to other problems once you begin driving it.
