Projects 1956 Ford "Canned Monster" Gasser

Getting some sanding done, SLOWLY...and hope to get some primer on them this coming weekend. Removing undercoating is not my favorite activity. Also have some rust repair to do on the fender, thankfully its pretty minor. I am pretty happy with my Bosche electric DA sander.

 

I put a scoop on my hood, I was surprised at how tough the factory paint was, even with 50-grit it was a bear to get down to bare metal.

 

Thats very interesting. Are you sure it was the factory paint? All the old cars I've worked on the paint almost falls off on its own. This hood is glass so I didn't have to deal with the original hood.

 

It seemed to be factory. I used name brand discs too.

 

Thats pretty interesting. Have any photos of the scoop installed?

 

Laid a bit of primer over the weekend. First time getting primer on parts in many years. Feels good, its finally moving along again. Now if I can get my spine back to working condition things will move a bit faster.
