Picked up a nice Tootsietoy #01043 Ford Convertible for a couple bucks last week. Checked it out and this casting does not come with a windshield. The ones I saw on the internet were all red with a gold interior. I decided it should have a windshield, so I made my own metal one and JB welded it to the car. I kept it red with a gold interior and gave it a few extra details so it will be a keeper and a nice addition for my collection.
I haven't posted here in a while because I told myself...no more, lol. Went to a Swap Meet over the weekend and this Corgi was there for 5 bucks! As Danny Coker says, I can't help myself.
Finally found a parts truck with a perfect grille/bumper for my restored and custom detailed vintage Tru Toy Truscale #223 Fire truck. While researching these I found they originally came with a 2-piece plastic ladder which are usually either broken or missing. A friend knew someone with a 3D printer and was able to make me a couple of very nice and perfect fitting ladder assemblies. Now I just have to decide if I want to get the T-S Municipal Fire Dept. decals and since the extra parts truck is still very restorable, I once again will need another grille/bumper to finish that one.
Picked up a vintage Turner Toys and a Lumar auto transport trucks this week. I may keep the Turner Toys rig and need to figure out the correct size cars to display on it.
Good Morning. Ed. your cars have drivers, mine didn't. I need to find some people to go with my toy Hot Rods. I haven't been on the HAMB as often lately. I took on the job of home schooling my grandkids. I'll add a Hemi to the 34. { R.F. Ron Funkhouser } lol
Yeah so do I. My good friend Craig Naff did all of the metal work on it at Boyd's. He's very talented.
Picture of George and myself at the Cleveland Autorama many years ago. He was kind enough to sign the cards on my diecast cars that he was involved with.
