Custom fabricated windshield posts ONLY. I don't want to see your 1- 800 credit card windshield posts. Hot rod I built for my BFF. Note. 2" has been added to the top of the body and suicide 4" longer doors. Hence body has been " denoitces " PS; Raised ledge that windshield sets on has been cut off.
That looks good Den. The 28/9 is tough to get a nice flow, but you got it. Made out of steel? How do they attach? Groove for the glass?
All flame cut pieces. Welded together with a 3/8 " spacer for the glass and welting. Studs welded to bolt on.
And my AMBR possible contender? I started with a 3/8 " square bar stock. Flame cut the rest. The posts drop into the 29 coach reveal which is 1" square tubing. Notice the belly pan extending all the way back to the rear axle.
Those windshield posts (and the cars they’re on) are beautiful! Thanks for sharing pictures. And thanks for thinking outside the box. I’ll try to get some good pictures of my windshields.
Mine are castings. I made patterns out of pine. The first one was cast 25 years ago and on my roadster for many years.
Joe at JB Custom Designs, built every piece of the windshield out of flat steel. Here's a few pics showing some details.
Its a v12 lincoln out of a canadian zephyr. I have been told that there were only 17 of these cars produced, this one has all of the lincoln under it.
Attached to the body with threaded studs. The W/S posts are 3 flame cut pieces welded up using a 3/8" spacer.
Sold [ gave away ] my 29 to a contractor from GA. He has a rod builder to finish it but he doesn't know how to do a hood. *** J B , you built a PERFECT example!. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
These are Dan Fink W/S posts. I don't consider them as " Buy them and Bolt them" They are sold as a bolt on kit using their W/S frame. I purchased the posts only. I made a fixture to mill the 3/8" slot. I had to custom fit them to the cowl because I moved the posts rearward and leaned them back more than stock.
