Before I waste time and money looking for hoses that fit, does anyone have part numbers for hoses for a SBC in a ‘36 Ford coupe? It’s an original’36 radiator set up for a 327.

  2. For my '40 with a SBC I made a template using a stiff wire to conform to the shape needed, then went through the inventory at my local NAPA store to find hoses that had the correct diameters and bends where needed, then cut off the remainder.......and kept the part numbers for future reference.

For my set-up, I used a stock '57 Chevy V8 lower hose - Gates #20242 with an added inner wire support.

    For the upper hose, I used a Gates #22268 (1-3/4" - 1-3/4") cut to length with a Gates #26391 (1-3/4" to 1-1/2") reducer sleeve.

My coolant outlet / thermostat housing on the intake manifold is at 45 degrees towards the driver's side.
    Hope that helps.

Flex hose , dryer hose , wire hanger might help. Go to Home Depot or Lowe’s and see what they have .

  5. At the bottom, a Gates #20242 fits perfectly between a sbc water pump & model A radiator.:)

So, after measuring and checking parts stores I came up with a Dayco 71500 lower rad hose that works. I just had to trim one end off. I haven’t run the sbc yet but it looks like it’ll work. Both ends are 1 1/2.
