I've recently got hooked on Cadillacs mainly 1955 and 1956 models, but I like them all. Anybody got any Cadillacs that they would like to post. I would love to see them.
    Thanks.

I gotta 48 convertible. I'm not sure it fits this forum. It's not traditional by any means. I built it the way I wanted it, to drive. Ls1, 4l60e, cruise, tilt, air, air ride and yes billett. chris

I had been into Cadillacs for quite a while and ventured over to the dark side. I finally came to my senses and bought the 60 Coupe de Ville I'd always dreamed of. I'm starting work on it this weekend.

    Hello,

One day I was driving around looking for an old shop we used to go in the So Cal area in the late 60s, early 70s. The general area is still loaded with various hot rod shops and builders. But, this old shop was near the PCH, the ocean and close proximity to a busy industrial tract.
As I was driving around, I did find the old shop. It is still there and being used in a different way than a custom build shop for cars and motorcycles.

On the way out of the industrial tract, I spotted this Cadillac fin sticking out of an open garage. I recognized it as an older model Cadillac vs. a later model. I was in some flowing traffic and had to slow down to take a quick photo with my digital camera.

In 1957, our dad wanted a new car for his daily driver. One of his friends had a Cadillac and could not say anything bad about riding around with his big car. Our dad always had Buick Sedans (3 to this point in the life cycle) But, listening to his friend, he now was interested in a Cadillac.

Well, if he had stayed on his friend’s advice, we would have been a Cadillac owner family. But, instead, our dad came home with a blue Buick Roadmaster, two door sedan. That was different as his other sedans were 4 doors.

We could see the 1958 Cadillac as a cruiser, but it may have been too large for our narrow 2 car garage with the other stall occupied by the black 58 Impala. It was impressive in the Movie, "HUD," with Paul Newman as a co-star...

“The ’58 model had been redesigned from the previous year, now boasting a wider grille and a quartet of chrome wind splits ahead of each wheel. It also marked the final year for the Eldorado and De Ville trim lines, as these would be spun off into their own models for the following year.”

“All 1958 Cadillacs were powered by the standard Cadillac OHV V8, mated to GM’s four-speed Hydra-Matic transmission with controlled coupling. Body styles for the Series 62 included two- and four-door hardtops and a two-door convertible which weighed in with a whopping curb weight of 5,030 pounds.”
