    thanks
that car caused my addiction to classic cars, just finished restoring the 41 chevy last year, the car was raced at Dover dragstrip an CT. Dragway by my Dad back in 1963-65 and won many D/MP class races.

One of your pictures in the first post is a modern pic. Do you own the car now? I have to say that I liked it way better with the whitewalls....

    yes to owning the car.
the car now for the first time since it was sold in 1969 about 53 years ago the car now has the same license plates as it had back then when raced and i'm putting the white walls with the corvette spinner wheel covers back on the car and putting the car back to as close to as when AL Oakes raced the car as possible

  16. It looks to me that you are doing well. I ended up getting the 348 / 409 blower manifold from "The Blown Hearse. I got it for a friend, and he later sold it to Paul that has the twin "W" motor dragster, one blown engine, one Algon injected engine. When I lived in Connecticut, Bernie Ciancetti, of Doyle and Ciancetti assembled my 6-71 blowers. The guys from "Drag n Run" were serious competitors. And Paul, didn't Loehman Chevrolet sponsor a Chevy II early funny car ?

  17. Because of the high amount of posting activity on this forum, your post can scroll down 2 or 3 pages pretty darn fast.
Note the "timestamps" of each latest reply/replyer on the right-hand column of the main topics page(s). That will be a clue as to how far down you need to scan to find yours.
Sometimes I have had to use the search function by putting a keyword or two of my title and myself as the author to dig up a thread that's only a day or so old.
Welcome aboard. I hope you get some help with your quest. :)

Or you can hit the "watch thread" tab (top right just under thread heading) and it will always show in watched threads.
To check watched threads, hover over this tab (top of page on left).
Watched threads is fourth from the bottom. Click on it to see/manage them.
This will work on a thread you start, or any other thread you want to keep an eye on.
It will also give you alerts when there is any new activity on the thread.

    Hope this helps......:)

What caused or was the reason for the "Iron Fireman" reference or name on this car? That happened to be the name of a Portland Oregon business that started in 1923 and later had ties to Toronto and Cleveland.
