Reputable shops and ball park price for chopping a Merc 3 inches front 4 inches rear and garnish moldings? Brainstorming LOL
If you're able to find the cheapest guy willing to do the chop...might end up like this... https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/‘51-mercury-botched-top-chop-repair.1263500/
I would guess the price to be at least $12000. It's a lot of work. You might be better off having someone on HAMB do it even if you have to transport the car. Read everything in this Link: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/51-merc-4-door-price-for-chopping-top.756002/
Where you consider the North East? There is someone in Tennessee who basically specialices in Merc chop tops.
I got some quotes when I had my 50 Chevy for a chop and I got quoted from a shop that does good work $5000 for all metal work done and ready for body work and paint . so @19Fordy price of 12 grand sounds right once you factor in filler and metal prep , glass , seals etc etc . a top chop while guys who know how to do them make them look easy are quite involved and can turn a car to scrap if done wrong .
Check out Choprods on here. Kenny is in Elmer Missouri. He has chopped hundreds of cars. Would be worth shipping the car to him.
