I know that the truck has been discussed here before. I got it at Pate Swap Meet this weekend and was hoping that the family might see it here. I messaged the grandson ( I believe ) on here and am waiting for a reply.

After some work… I found the grandson of the original owner. It’s returning to the family!

That Cornbinder has gone through an interesting evolution!

It will be interesting to see if the original family leaves it as it is, or if they will try to clean it up and get it back to the way it was!

As a slightly biased fan of IHC products, somebody put a lot of work into that rig, but the square headlights (blows chunks)!
It's hard to unsee those square headlights!
Variety is the spice of life!

Has it always had square headlights or did it change over the years like many customs do ?
The driver fender needs a repair anyway, good time to swap them out..... Stacked round headlights ? :D

Lot of time in that original build, great to see it going back to the family.

    X2, Woof! That one's a "double bagger".
Customizing is supposed to improve the looks. (no offense to binder owners), but in this case, the builder actually made things worse than a stock 58 IHC, which is no small feat. (I actually like the 50's IHC pickups).
"More money than taste comes to mind", but glad to see it going back to the family!

Sure looks like it has 55-9 Chevy/ GMC bed and steps on it. (First pic). I’m guessing the 2nd pic was when built?

  16. If it had quad round head lights it would be miles ahead in the looks dept .

the front grill treatment is neat , the head lights …… meh .

would be nice to have a build thread snd story on this .

    where was it found ?

  18. I might wear dark shades and sit way low in the seat.
But yea, I’d hit the go pedal

  19. The headlights are a snapshot from a time when they were very apropos to the build period context.
Not to fawn over them is contrary to the spirit of the HAMB.

Yes, they might spill over past the HAMB cutoff...... but, you know, the principle still applies.

  20. I’d be proud to drive it!

Took a minute to get over that nose.
    But Id drive it.

If that's how they built it, I'd keep it that way probably, though I agree round would look better imho. Awesome truck though.

Square headlites are off topic and certainly not a traditional custom
