I believe he has a ‘56 Townsman, which I believe is what he is referring to.

Haha, yea I’ve sent my wife out to the garage multiple times to ask which ones she likes better - at this point she doesn’t care lol.

That Wagon looks like it's ready to jump off the floor...I suppose the Adjustable profile setup must be tempting...

There is something to be said for the any profile you desire at your fingertips...it sure makes things near instantly change in dramatic ways...

I got my fender skirts stripped today, hope to have them primed in the next day or so. Also, going to have a buddy align the car this weekend. Slowly checking all the marks on my To-Do list. Only things I’ll have left to do that really need to be done are welding front shocks on and ordering new tires (these ones look great but are super dry cracked.)

    Also…… new pics…..

Got it all aligned today, actually wasn’t as far out as I thought it would be. Hopefully tackle front shocks next weekend and now I’m kinda thinking about stripping the stainless off and refinishing it.

Some black paint on the fender skirts….

I’ve never been 100% for or against skirts. I never set out to go buy a pair but this pair found me a few weeks ago. They were pretty good condition, appeared to originally be from the era, which I took as being better quality than most stuff made today. So, for $100 I rolled the dice and I’m actually pretty fond on them thus far.

I feel like dog dish caps and skirts are a contradiction. Dog dish implies all-business base model, skirts imply fully accessorized and probably should have full wheel covers with them.

If you were planning to swap hubcap styles I think the skirts only come out with the wheel covers. The difference between skirts and full caps and no skirts/dishes would be all that much more dramatic.

  17. I'm like you, not a big fan of skirts but those look good on your car. Really brings home the custom look with the black paint.

  18. I think a full cap would complement the skirts better, but they scratch up your wheels so there's no going back. I think it looks fine as is though.

  19. Knowing you change caps like most of us change socks, it can work with either cap in my mind. Looks good and I have debated the same on skirts for my car. So far, I have remained skirtless.

  20. Do me a favor and put a little more air in the front bags with the skirts on to give it more of a taildragger stance, take a pic and post...

Yea, I thought the exact same thing about it being a contradiction. But, with my idle hands, I'm sure some weeks it will have full face hubcaps and skirts, some weeks no skirts, some weeks maybe no hubcaps at all lol.

But, I do like them more than I thought that I would, that's for sure.

Slow news is good news, I guess. We just bought another house and have been in the process is buying/selling our old home for the last six weeks or better. Haven’t done anything with the ‘55 but did take it out last evening for a cruise - wife needed some cold medicine.
