Stripped bare and off to the blaster.
Once it’s back we’re gonna fully box it, add some gussets and plate between the k member.

  2. Saw some of the progress on Instagram. Looks killer. Think it will be ready by September/October? You guys gonna come down again for the show?

    Its been while.....

Heres a few update pics. Frame was blasted than a brush coat of POR was sloshed on the inside of the rails before boxing them.

I added a bunch of reinforcement gussets, boxed the frame the full length, welded up a bunch of holes that were not going to be used, did a quick mud coat from the firewall forward area of the frame. Because its a roadster I thought the frame should have a good amount of stiffness.

I blocked out the frame, sprayed a heavy coat of sealer than a few coats of filler primer, quick bock sand and three coast of single stage black.

The frame is back at mikes garage, its rolling, brakes are plumbed, motors in.....body on, shouldn't be long.

    Thanks Ron.

The rest is up to Mike, I’m sure he can handle the assembly

I'll be showing my grandson this, very inspiring. We've got are eyes on a body chassis roller. No engine or box or drivers door but looks a nice start. My grandson is 13 so he would be just about be able to drive by the time its built. Thanks for the grate photos.

UPDATE: I am now the owner of this really nicely built roadster. I'm putting my Merc back together after paint and then I'll start working on the roadster. There's a long list of projects that need to be done on it but other than designing and fabricating a clutch linkage and a steering box rebuild there's nothing to big. Can't wait to fire up this new flatty, my neighborhood has been too quiet.
