What car have y'all always wanted,,but has never found it's way into your garage? Mine has always been a 49 Olds 88 4dr sedan!! I have no clue to why the 4dr is more appealing than a coupe with me! But I love the lines of them!
I’m a simple man with simple dreams 41 Willy’s gasser would suit me nicely . But in all honesty , anything old I can get behind the wheel and drive puts a smile on my face
Avanti 1963 4speed supercharged. Got close once, there was a crashed one,I knew I could fix,but no matter what I did,was still $200 short on $ before it was sold !!
I bought a 71 Cutlass convertible that had one of those Avanti's. Beautiful car!! But the guy was on the eccentric side! Had 3 steel Avanti's, 2 Morris Minors in the loft of his barn,,,and didn't want to take 100 dollar bills for the Olds!!!
The first car that I ever went to buy was a '56 Chevy 4-dr wagon. My dad took me...the only car thing we really ever did together. I wrote the directions down wrong. By the time we found it, it was sold. Always wondered what happened to it??? Gene.
I've always loved the 28-34 Mopar coupes and 30-47 Dodge pickups. A few years ago I finally had the chance to buy and build a 39 Dodge pickup. I've discovered the hard way that those early vehicles are pretty small for a big fat old man like me. The next thing I had a craving for was a 49-54 Plymouth 2 door wagon. I missed a shot at one 30 years ago by just a few minutes, the guy that put money down on it was walking away when I saw it. I've had a shot at a couple of them from time to time, but funding, timing, distance away, or condition of the car usually got in the way. A few weeks ago, I ran across another one. Very nice, priced right, a couple hours away. I had the money in my hand, and we had an appointment scheduled to go get it. But then I passed and canceled the appointment. There was a lot of thought, a lot of discussion with my wife (she was all for it), and weighing a lot of different things that would be involved. Nothing big added up, but there was enough small things that caused me to make the decision I did. Guess maybe I've outgrown the "got to have that one car" thing. Different priorities these days. Gene
I get that,,one of the later cars I want is a 74-76 trans am, found one,,but I don't fit the car anymore!!! And I work for a Pontiac engine builder!! I passed it up. I'll stick with the family rides now. Age does get involved in our choices!
1955 Nomad..had opportunities but drug my feet..They sure have escalated in price the last few years. No complaints here though, I've been fortunate.
40 Ford Coupe, Tudor sedan, and pickup. Either one, two, or all three. Will never have any of them I figure.
I guess I've got the only car that I ever really wanted. There's another project running through my brain, so as soon as we get my wife's truck on the road, I'm gonna build me a front engine dragster.
Since I'm just dreaming, I think a '33 Willys gasser narrowly beats out a '37 Fiat Topolino altered gasser for me.
Ask me 100 times and get 100 different answers. I can never really pick one and stick with it. It rotates around a 32-34 Ford 3 window, 55 Chevy gasser, 58 Impala, 62 Chevy bubbletop and a C2 Corvette roadster. I just want to collect, lol.
I have always had the ‘55 Chevy car as the #1 pick since I was a 7 year old snot nose . Nose still runs and still like the ‘55 best .
I have always admired this particular year and model of Studebaker. You come cruising up in one of these, especially in all white like this one, and indeed, you have arrived in high style. It checks all of the boxes for me, elegant styling, tail fins, chrome where its supposed to be, unique nose and grille and it always looks like its moving fast while sitting still. And its a Studebaker, great history associated with it !
Since I was a little kid I've always was wanted a 32 Ford coupe. I remember seeing one at good guys in Indy in the early 00s I was barely old enough to drive but I wanted it. It was a body sitting on a frame so my dad thought what the hey, asked the guy and he wanted $20k. Crushed that dream good and dead
Yep, a good matched pair. (I'm rebuilding my 49 88 fastback. Hudsons are pretty rare over here though...)
64-67 corvette coupe. The price on them has gone up faster than my income. WAY faster! I used to say “someday” but I don’t even bother anymore
It's never too late to achieve your dream car unless you're reaching so far out of your means $$$ it is impossible. "Where there's a Will there's a Way", Best advice from my parents I ever received, passed onto my children, they have passed on to their children "There are No Excuses, Make it Happen" I always had kool cars when a kid and as an adult, no silver spoon for me, worked my ass off my entire life and made my dreams come true, I've owned my dream cars/racers, every type toy ever built, boats, motorcycles, snowmobiles, etc., still have some, now old so hobby cars/toys change some and I will be cruisin till my expiration date. The last thing you want to be at your end is a Shoulda/Woulda/Coulda guy. You are in Charge, Be in Charge. Everyone, Have a Great Day !
