Funny how my heart skipped a beat concerning the welfare of a guy I don't even really know.
Tell me the truth... I'm not the only one?

  9. Lol,,,,I’m certain the car is OT here,,,,,Jim can find some unusual chariots to rally in .
Come to think of it,,,,,,if it would qualify,,,,,,I’m sure Jim could get a real chariot in a rally !

Yes,,,,,I was very concerned to start with .
Jim is a valuable asset here,,,,,,he contributes information and is helpful to everyone that ask anything auto related.
Mechanical,,,electrical,,,,,design,,,,,,a very sharp hot rodder,,,,,an excellent engineer !

While I consider myself expendable ,,,,,Jim is a person of knowledge,,and experience.
I always learn something from him,,,and have grown to depend on his input here .

OT or not, MG Td & Tf have been hot rodded. I watched them race in the late 50s on South Bass Island in Lake Erie, neat little cars.

Had a '50 MGTD with a stock flathead 60 in it when I got drafted in '71. Someone went to a lot of work for not much go.

Good time to drive an MG. Long distance in a blown big block might be a bit pricey these days.

Why would a pre 65 MG be any more off topic than other small imported car? If it had an engine swap would that be better?

A friend went on one of those rally’s. I can’t imagine doing it solo. You have to find all sorts of obscure things an navigate all over the place. My friend had his two sons on the internet constantly finding things and navigating. It truly requires an exceptional person to do it alone. I wish him all the best.

    Thanks for the concern everyone.

The car is off topic, and a real handful to drive solo on a rally in the weather we have had. Finally finished, and got a room for the night to thaw out. The little car did great, for a roadster in a blizzard. Now for the 850 mile drive home from Denver. I'll get back to real life on Tuesday I hope.

I only use it for rallys. It's how they score points.
