I’m sure this has been neat to death here but I am running a early sbc with long tube headers. The Clearance from the filter to the headers is about 3/8-1/2 inch with the short filter and the spin on filter adapter. Looking to relocate the filter to a place where it’s not going to get beat up by heat and has better access. What have you fellas used to achieve this? Thanks

  2. Buy a filter relocation kit. Summit and I am sure jegs and any number of catalog speed shops sell them.

All I seen is for the later blocks. I didn’t really want to put an adapter on an adapter

Even the last small blocks use an adaptor, the block casting was the same.

Ok for some reason I was under the impression the early was different then later stuff.

You're correct, the early stuff is different. I don't know if an adapter for a remote mount is avaliable.

Why not get a short pf454 filter? 3.3 inches tall. What filter do you have now?

So I ordered the perma cool 10613 and that is for the early blocks. So hopefully this may help a hamber in the future. It’s also made in America! 87563392-064B-4D7D-8A4E-FB69D0CCDB27.png

On my ‘40 coupe I mounted in on the frame rail inside the drivers side fender. Easy to access and road tested for many 1000’s of miles B921E40F-8188-40C6-8CD1-FB36ED70CD40.jpeg
