Tuesday March 15 Gene Francis Hetland passed away I have not talked to Gene for about 10 years, he would buy parts and tools from me at swapmeets, and always asked me to deliver them, that would lead to a chance to tour all the stuff he had. Boy, he had everything too.
I toured his place a couple years ago. He was a very gracious host, and talked our ears off. Showed us everything, in the garages and house. And he didn't know us from Adam. Nice guy!
He was a real gentleman and a hobbyist in the truest sense of the word-and he knew about 1932 Fords like no one else. His collection was sold at Mecum Indianapolis last May.
I too had the pleasure of meeting Gene and getting a tour of his place. He loved to share his love for the '32. RIP.
