The sound of my genius. It's almost always silent in my shop. *sigh*

I'm always late to the party; I discovered this band after they dis-banded, but I listen to Blue Mountain a lot.

    Hello,

Having given most of our 33 LP classic records from our days as teens and 20-30 somethings to our son and granddaughter, their collection now covers a whole wall of their living room. Again, it was one of those “clean out the house” of stuff we haven’t used for years… situations back then. Now, every time we go over for a visit, the old classic LPs are neatly arranged on a whole wall of records, books and a nice camera collection interspersed in the cubby holes.

Being a modern age teenager, our granddaughter is listening to our old rock albums. She recently got an old car to drive and it had a CD player built in place. So, who listens to CDs anymore? With the advent of MP3 players and Ipods, as well as phones, the CD collection is a thing of the past.

For our granddaughter, we gave her our whole CD collection in albums to have as a choice of which rock music she wants to listen to when she goes on errands and teenage cruises. If there still is such a thing. Our household multiple CD player is history and we thought of putting the record player back in action.

So, for a fleeting moment and a step back in time, we got the record player out and not only did we play a few left over classics like “Forest Flower Sunrise and Sunset” LP album, but a few others still hanging around in the cabinet. When we found the 45 record collection from my wife’s old record album holder, we had a nice session of old music for those old memories.

From Jailhouse Rock to Venus, with a few So Cal beach sounds thrown into the mix.

Our modern garage was a great place to hear those old sounds and pretend that we were in the 1959 era working on our teenage cars. Some of them were a little scratchy, but the good needle did its best to bring out the sounds to the modern amplifier and better garage speakers. YRMV

My wife had bought this old version of “Don’t Worry Baby” in 1964. But our summers together from 1966 to now still ring true, with the warm California sun, great sunsets, and endless summers… all smacked together in... "What we listen to in our modern garage..."

Usually, I'd say rhythm and blues but lately it's been western swing.
