Question for those that cast parts or have parts made - does anyone have a valve cover
for an OHV setup on an A' block? I have my new Burtz block that will eventually get
built after I recover from all the radiation therapy ahead of me ( stage 4 cancer... :( )
but the only OHV side plates that I own are for B' engines and I don't own an A' valve
cover for an OHV set up. Thanks, Steve

NZ Government must read the HAMB! Yesterday evening they announced that they would lower the tax on fuel by 25 cents a liter, for three months , from midnight last night! That is nearly $1.00 a US gallon.... fuel is still expensive ,but the cuts will affect the price of all goods that use transport. There is an election coming up! Any further comment would make this political.:D

I did figure that Steve would have one, but since the oil return line on the new Burtz blocks are strictly for "show"
I thought I would search for one
without the factory style oil return holes machined into it.

This is the coupe that is providing much inspiration - my apologies that it is an AV8

I'll probably have to fit it with a dropped axle in order to get that stance, but for the meant time, this'll do.

It has a flattened reversed eye front spring and a 34 axle.
The rear is fitted with a T model spring.

Looks great with the 18's and knock-off style caps on it. I like to see some spoke on a mostly stock appearing car. Well done!

  11. Steve, somebody, and I can’t remember who:rolleyes:, used to make a finned cover for the A int and exh ports to be used with the common finned valve chamber cover. Two separate pieces instead of the bigger one piece.
    I’ll keep looking.

Sounds like you may need something custom or modify one.I have been making these from 6061 and blast finish to look kinda cast.

    Auburn Spring Hill Climb
Several individuals have asked about the next hill climb in Northern Calif. I just returned today and what I had posted earlier this week is in fact true, Today about noon the official flyer was posted. Those of you that are interested in what the NOR-Cal Fast group is doing contact Ardy at [email protected],
you can get on the email list to receive bulletins, newsletters and meeting minutes if you make the request.

Thank you for the update, and thanks for spreading the word Callcoy! Though its not the greatest weekend for me, I'm working on finding a way to make it down there and join the fun.

Recently installed Tube Headers, Ansen Manifold, and a Stromberg Carburetor. Really like the improved performance so far.

Hi all, I'm new to the site and fairly new to the banger and having a blast figuring it all out.

hoping someone can help me out, I'm running the banger with an fsi, we're just about to fit a lion 7.1 head and need to shim the distributor to limit the advance. I've read that the shims would need to be 0.30 Anyone got any pics of this being done, where does the shim go? Does anything else need to be done? Will the current springs be ok for the curve, I can only presume they are the standard ones that come in the fs from new. Thanks Ritchie
