Get that Olds happening and have about as much fun as you can tolerate in an old hot rod. It’s paint, unless you think your ride needs to make a personal statement. I don’t.

I'd rock it! You wouldn't park beside another one at your average show. I'd get the safety stuff up to snuff, new tires and wheels and drive it if the running gear is any good while I did the paint and body work. If the motor was bad, a swap wouldn't be out of the question. Might do like Danny said and never make it past primer. If it wasn't so far away I could get serious about that. Too far away for me to go after then get there and find a bunch of surprises or a flakey seller...

It screams 1960's! Hell, I'd love to see someone score it and run it as is.
A Helluva lot better than those easter egg painted street rods from the 80's/90's.

I seem to gravitate to the more homely looking things. I drive the shit out of that thing. That reminds me I need a new girlfriend. :(

They actually had some really cool Hotrod happening without a doubt...the Hotrods of Dearborn comes to mind...I did check their site out but didn't find any hits.

It needs to live out its days at vintage drags races across the country. Unchanged in the looks category. That`s what I would do with it. Anybody wants to sign up as a sponsor. The cost of the car seems very reasonable to me.

    Agree, who's bringing it home.

I love old paint jobs and panel paint, but that's just too funky for me.

On one hand, don't care for the paint work.
On the other hand, if the car has any sort of heritage / history, if it's got / had some following, leave it as is. Polish it and drive it.

Grind that yellow and green crap off and paint it black, throw on some skinnier front wheels and tires, get that olds thumpin’ again and you’ve got yourself a hot rod.

  17. I’m pretty sure you could chop it without really ruining the paint. I think a nice angle chop might suit it.

I'd just like to see it being shared here as a ressurection of sorts...

I searched pretty heavily for some period images of this Hotrod and what we see is what we got...I wonder if this was the original owner selling it...I truly feel its older than we think....

Anyhow...Did any one here get it at an even better price?

Were Studes of this period loaded with wood?

Back Up!!! Did anyone here snag this neat blast from the past?

  22. There might be good bones for a start but that’s unforgivably ugly. The work you can see would indicate more scabrous work that you can’t see. Our collective taste on the HAMB has taken a huge nosedive since I started hanging around more than 20 years ago. Just because it’s old doesn’t make it cool.

  23. I’d cruise that and park it beside every Spencer and McGee clone out there.
