Well that would be the end of ANY progress in my garage. :D nice setup up.

Great looking car, like the new stance. Look around for another 235, or even 261, you can find them for next to nothing - when you don't need one.

Maybe a PM is better as it is tolerated here but not as a topic of technical discussion per say...

It’s not serious progress but I did get the brakes bleed this weekend and we ran the rear air lines to the bags.

I was able to take a little time and clay bar the whole car this afternoon, it did look wet but it had a little bit of ‘drag’ to it when you would take your hand across it. I’m happy to report that it is now straight silk.

From what I’ve been able to uncover, this thing was painted over 20 years ago, probably closer to 30. I’m amazed at how deep the paint looks - it’s incredible.

Sometime in the next year I want to remove all of the stainless and polish it as well. It’s in presentable shape but I have all of the equipment to polish like new so might as well make it the best that I can.

Picked this rug up at a yard sale this past Summer for $20! It was a steal, I rolled it up and shoved it in the trunk of the ‘55

Believe it or not….. I got out to the garage and got something done today. Finished running air lines, mounted up the compressor and air tank and tinkered on random odds and ends.

I still need to wire up the compressor and switches before actually giving it air but I love how it looks off of the tire cribbing.

This is literally the car I take to the grocery store when it isn’t raining or snowing so bad to try and tuck things away as best as possible.

Have my dog dish caps off for a refinishing - stripping the old paint, a polish and then repainting the white ring around them.

So, in the meantime it’s full face hubcaps again. I really love both looks it’s definitely going to go back and forth all year.

I’ve been thinking about adding a bullet to the center of the stock full face Hubcap - I seen a pic of one from the recent roadster show and it looked killer.

I always thought the guys who could not decide on full wheel covers or just poverty caps got it right by putting 1 side with full covers and the other with the Poverty caps, can’t see both side of the car at once!

  19. AMAZING how cool a moredoor can look with the right stance and wheel/tire combination. This car is so COOL! Everything you are doing to it makes it better.

I think that's exactly what I'm going to do - I'm even toying with the idea of adding a single fender skirt just on the full faced side.

Well, it's still below freezing temps and wet/snowy here most of the time so I haven't been able to do much other than just drive the car in/out of the garage.

I have a slow air leak in the LF, so I'll have to address that with some soapy water this weekend. I converted over to power brakes and new brake lines so I'd really like to drive it and make sure that all feels okay before I'm confident that its complete.

This is my first time having air suspension and I'm sure my confidence will build but right now the exhaust 'downpipe' is completely on the ground with no air so I just worry what would happen if I lost all air going down the road - I'd like to get it to an exhaust shop for some minor cutting and raising of the exhaust before I start driving it to much. But, I guess that's the name of the game.

I have decided to run the stock dog dish caps on one side and the full face caps (that I'm going to modify with a bullet at some point) on the opposite side. I like both looks so much. I can see how it seems almost 'dumb' but about 80% of me feels like that's how I want it. All subject to change of course.

It drove out really well. I was expecting it to be worse lol. I don't have the front shocks on yet, I don't have a welder so need to take it and have some brackets welded to the frame to mount them up.

But, all in all, it was the same old car - maybe a little bouncier but with those shocks I'm hoping I get back to where I was all stock.

The right stance on any vehicle is the most important aspect when you are driving a kool ride. Man you nailed it! Makes me miss my '55 Chevy. Keep us posted with your progress.

We have our annual indoor World of Wheels car show coming up here in Indy so I wanted to run the car a bit to make sure some of the bugs are out before I drive it to and from the show.

Man, its doing good and it actually rides really well - better than I expected. It's basically the same old car.

I still need to put on the front shocks (welded to the frame and lower control arm), and have some exhaust work done and secured. I'll work on that stuff in April.

Probably going to need some new tires soon as well, just due to dry cracking. I'm going to sandblast the wheels and paint them (or powdercoat) then as well.

I'm just ready for warm weather and cruising.
