A buddy of mine found one for my 37 Terraplane for me. I also have a 39 owners card from the glove box.

I guess they didn't understand their customers, at least the hot rodders among us.

I have the original (rough) and a reprint in the galaxie. I also have the shop manual and shop manual suppliment for my galaxie and shop manual for my f100 . Best money you'll spend if your car is close to original.

The new ones I've seen come in a faux leather type binder and are as thick as a Bible! Mostly filled with disclaimers to try and ward off lawsuits! The other information is for all the high-tech doo dads that are loaded into the new vehicles that a low tech feller like myself cant grasp anyhow! But they do look nice! Joe

  15. For the 1931 Dodge Brothers cars, there was an "instruction book" that would allow an owner to do some adjustments/replacements, but no "shop manual". The instruction book is pretty good to have, but you really need to be well-versed in mechanics in able to perform most of the tasks.

Hell I'm lucky to have the glove box door. I used to have an org manual in my green buick but I sold it with the car. I'll probably just buy a reproduction till I can find an org one. Anyone have an org 47 Buick supers manual

I had an owners manual long before I got the truck. Leave it to the government to print way more manuals than the number of trucks ever ordered or manufactured.

  18. I have the original owners manual for my 47 chevy. Its always been in the glove box. Of course I've had it 43 years. I was the 3rd owner.

I've got the one for my Model A. I wish I had one for my '32.

The opposite end of the GM spectrum was the economy Corvair. Here's a Shop Manual and Owner's book for a '65 (squeaking by here!). IMG_20160710_070735893_HDR.jpg

  21. To answer the thread title, nope.
But these have been so valuable over the years. Details like where to put sealant during assembly and anti-squeak gaskets. IMG_20160710_205551020_HDR.jpg IMG_20160710_205551020_HDR.jpg

  25. I thought the pockets in the door upholstery solved the problem but I am not sure if they came on the deluxe cars only.

  26. They make an excellent reproduction. I used to deal with a company called FAXON but I am not sure if they are still in business. Note an original for the V8 as shown in the first post.

  27. Cheap solution, put a pocket in your door upholstery. I am not sure these pockets came with the standard upholstery. IMG_5012 2.jpeg IMG_5014 2.jpeg
