My friend JC who owns a early hot rodded ‘32 Roadster and was judging another class at “The Amelia” sent these pictures of the Deuce class to me a few hours after the event.
I didn't go this year, my little protest against increasing ticket costs. Sure hope Hagerty doesn't shoot for Pebble Beach prices and take it off my schedule completely. Sorry. More to point, I love this show and as you know rods & customs have become a recurring part of it. I think the first year they did it there were only 5 hot rods / customs, but they were show stoppers. A few years back there was a show with a group of Allard, Kurtis' and Indy roadsters. I was in heaven. And the Penske tribute was off the charts. It's only a short drive from Tampa and well worth any car geek's interest.
Jay, Please elaborate on your experience as a judge of Davis Divan Three-Wheeler class at the 2022 "The Amelia" Concours d'Elegance ... if not in your next TJJ Blog, then perhaps in my 1948 Davis 3-Wheeler H.A.M.B. thread. Thanks, Todd
LOL...as if steel Deuce roadsters weren't already priced right outta the market...now the folks with REAL MONEY are starting to appreciate them.
Thanks for sharing.....those 'Davis' vehicles are very unique. I miss the Art of the Car show in KC, it always had a great pull of rare and oddball vehicles. Chris

Thanks for posting the photos. JC was one of the judges when my roadster was there a couple of years ago. After judging he came back and we had a long chat - he really liked the roadster as you can see and said it brought back a lot of happy memories for him, particularly when we fired it up. He said he was going to resurrect his Olds Rocket-powered roadster. Regards Jon.
