My Pontiac was originally pink and grey. I won't be putting it back that way.

Thanks Bruce. I was just outside with it taking the cover off to check a few things for parts ordering. She smells terrible, but that's just part of the fun I guess.

My '59 Biscayne wagon. I first posted a pic of it in the Sitting and Rotting thread before I got it. Its not sitting any more. I polished up the 58 year old Aspen green paint. Shined up pretty nice I think. Its thin in spots and someone screwed up the right side by trying to fix a small crease with a stud gun...... 20170708_163624.jpg 20170708_163810.jpg

My 48 Mordor-been in a barn since 1974-one family owned since Dec 48-54000 miles-came to my house May 2017 472.JPG 473.JPG 474.JPG Any tips on how to preserve the paint-there is fair bit of surface rust to come off first.

Got this '41 Cadillac this summer, about half is original paint and the other half is a lacquer respray probably from the early 50's when the trunk was shaved and some other minor custom stuff was done. It needs a few rust repairs and several paint fill-ins but I won't repaint it, I'm just going to fix what needs to be fixed.

On the other side of the coin is my '57 Chevy which has probably the least attractive old paint on it, white over red over pink and white, all coming off in layers, with doors that don't quite match since this was a 4 door originally.

This one would look nicer with a repaint, but it would open up a huge can of worms to do so, and the whole point of this build was to be a beater for everyday/work use. I just wanted to make it functional and safe, so the paint is what the paint is.
