so I made a new half skin for the drivers door

 

an I almost lost my life thanks to Bob Drakes cheaply casted 39 pedal assembly . If you have one of these in your car I would highly recommend taking it out and getting a original ford unit . I contacted Bob Drake about this . They knew about the problem and They didnt have a care in the world, just pushed me off on who I bought it from. Clearly they don’t care about safety and are all about the bottom dollar . I’ve heard from a couple other that have this same pedal assembly and have had the same issues .

Thank god I had an e brake .

I'm just glad you found a way to avert a potential catastrophe, are still with us...and are able to alert the masses to take a close look at what we're using down in the floorboards...

Are there any identifiers on those that one could discern brand or is the visual surface notably different?

That door skin is perfect. I'm always amazed at how some people can take a flat piece of metal and shape it into a perfect curve to replace original panels.
Thank goodness that pedal failure didn't cause any injuries to you or the car.
I'm glad my project car has a welded steel pedal assembly.

 

So I spent the day yesterday making a removable steel insert for the 32 It will get wrapped and the tack stip will go back in place . But this way when it gets wrapped it will stay nice an tight an follow the contour of the roof .

The bob drake pedal assembly is the only one that makes. The mounting bracket that can take the new an old sty master cylinder .

Nice roof solution Cody. It retains the charm of having a roof insert while also making a hard cover that is more practical that will require less care, seal well, provide some sound and weather protection and look great. Will it be painted body color or have some sort of fabric looking patina applied?

Alls I’ve been doing has been putting miles on it . Have about 3000 on it so far . Since I’m done with the show circuit with the Buick . I’m gonna get back on it here in a couple of weeks . My goal is to have it completed for 2025 Grand National Roadster show
