Any ideas on how to keep the ends of the lacing on the cowl/grille shell (of a 32 Ford) from fraying ?

    Thanks

I've been putting Elmer's wood glue on the ends for many years. Stops the fraying and disappears.

If it's new and a polyester blend try to burn it with a lighter. If it's old the advice above sounds legit.

Saturate the ends with super glue.

I agree with Gary, Elmers wood glue or a substitute work great.

  8. I used heat shrink. But heated to long. Made the lace roll up

I have the new stuff and used a soldering iron. I like the nail polish idea but I "borrowed" a bottle from my wife's bathroom prior to the roadster show to do some base/clear touch ups and kinda ruined it so I'm not allowed access to her things any longer.

But at least your nails looked good for the roadster show, right? Oh wait, you're probably meaning the bc/cc on your car. Sorry bout that man!;)

I am not ashamed to admit I have had a mani/pedi. The gal that did the pedi told me to get high next time as my feet are so ticklish she was afraid I was going to kick her in the teeth.

Which reminds me of a story about my girlfriends frayed out daisey dukes she was wearing. We had consumed a few beverages and I mentioned a lighter would take care of those stray threads. You know the rest of the story.:D

Used shrink tubing then installed the rivets. Works great so far!!
