I do business with First Bank in Evanston. Maybe I could bribe somebody. If you win I would be glad to pick it up and store it for you at some undisclosed location while I evaluate it for a few years......... :)

My nephew won an O/T camaro in a raffle. Looks like a very nice high dollar build. He said, shit it's gonna cost me $800 to get it home. o_O

Now, you will have to pay the income and sales taxes on the appraised value. ;)

Fifty bucks a ticket and only 250 tickets sold? I think he actually wanted it.

Oops, I saw "I swear honey I only spent a couple bucks on it" and thought that was truth. My offer is retracted.

  22. Lol...that’s the exact opposite of what has happened every time I have bought a raffle ticket. :D

Meaning you finally dug the camera out of the bag you stuck it in after taking the photos?
You are probably well past that point but back about 30 years ago a friend of mine was at a Lions club event and bought a raffle ticket on a 50 Mercury from a member of the club from another town and ended up winning the car. 4 door mild custom with a few issues but not a bad car. Problem was that the club doing the raffle had way overvalued the car in their adds and he ended up paying a big chunk of sales tax, income tax an got nailed for a couple of other fees. Hauled his grandkids in the local parades for a few years and I think he finally sold it.

I've never won anything but, the story from my Grandfather, who won $100k back in 1980 when he was 80, was that he just broke even after a lifetime of buying Irish sweepstake tickets.
