Okay, I found a set of 67' Mustang bucket seats. Has any one mounted a set of these in a 51 Ford? I also found 1968 Thunderbird back seat. I've read on here that you can use early to mid year seats but could not find anything on the 68 seat. The seat is a drive from my house so I want to make sure I can use it before I make the trip. I have attached a photo of both years to compare. I really like the 68 because the pleats kind or match the 67 Mustang Seats.

'68 Tbird seat is the cat's ass. Easy fit to the shoebox, and that finished Cathedral look? Can't beat it.
But I'd keep and modify the bench front seat, (just my choice; but I have a foxy young wife that sits close, like in MY DAY!)

That is exactly what I am doing at the moment in mine. I mocked up the rear ‘66 tbird seats and they fit the area almost perfectly. I have not mounted them yet. I have ‘68 mustang seats and have already made the mounting brackets. They fit with lots of room around them.

Of course the wood needed to come out. Previous owner had some 80s styling going on with what I think were boat seats upside down.

Can you show me how you made the brackets for the front?

Just angle iron I had laying around and the inner has 1”x1” square tubing in the middle. Definitely not going to break.
