Well, ok. Heres the progression since 2010. I wish I woulda just saved my money and bought a nice 2-door body. But, I was 21, really dumb, and I had to have a 55 210 2-door sedan. The $2000 I paid for this thing was every last dime I had at the time. Bought gas on credit for a week til the next paycheck lol. KC built six banger/3speed field car with a title, and really good floors.

The day I got this thing into the 11's in 2020, 11.80's @112 with an AFR headed 355, 4-gear, and 57 Pontiac rear with 4.10's and a spool. I was sooo tired of fighting slicks on and off by this point, and all the rag tag shit I did to it when I was 21-22. No headliner, no visors, no carpet, etc. was getting old.

New look for 2022. Rat power this time around, 460 cubes. More streetable than the SB was. Still got a ton of little stuff to do. Interior, alignment, couple small leaks, all the usual fresh build BS. Will post some more pics when all that is done.

I understand every bit of that statement. At that age I wanted the same thing and I was really dumb. But the work you've done and the results achieved as well as the car you bought (I'm thinking of those floors and sheet metal condition) prove that "really dumb" can't be said of you.

Wow, great history and eye candy in this thread.
I've posted mine before but not in here. Not really a Hot Rod, but some others aren't, so I hope its cool.
I obtained my '55 210 in late November '21 via my good buddy Mike of Mikes Metalworx. Its been through 3-4 owners here in So-Cal prior to me, so some of you locals may have seen it over the years.
Sadly, and not so sadly my now ownership was the result of the previous owner getting rear-ended by a lifted truck and selling it to Mike. I don't know the all the specifics, I only know for certain there was zero frame damage, its been to a frame shop for a inspection/clean bill of health.
    IMG_5424.jpg
Per our agreement prior to me taking possession, Mike made quick work ordering/replacing sheet metal, etc. He also swapped out the old a-arms for the tubular flavor, and all new urethane bushings. It was Mr. Toads Wild Ride prior. This is basically where I'm at today as far as the body goes until I get it repainted (exterior only paint match). Prior to re-squirt, however I'll be removing the vertical two-tone paint separator trims, fender scripts and antenna as well.
    IMG_5425.jpg
    trunk repair.jpg
For now, I've been spending my time making changes aesthetically and mechanically just so I can drive it safely. For example, cleaning all the grime and overlooked maintenance issues like a very worn out carb that was leaking from every seal etc. I also added a New Caddy air cleaner that had to be sectioned in the rear for wiper motor clearance. New wires looms plugs and cap. And as of yesterday, a Mallory Unilite vacuum advance canister. Yeah, try to find one of those...
    Before pics-

    wires 2.jpg
Gettin' tidier now. Still need to trim down the aluminum air cleaner spacer about 3/4" and clean more grime off the motor. I've started around the edges and slowly working my way down.
    wires looms.JPG
I swapped out the chrome smoothies & wide whites for Rocket "Fuel" wheels bullet caps & pinners. I tried Supremes, but I needed an off-set that they couldn't provide to go with my drop spindles/disk brakes. I needed additional inner fender well clearance because I'm going to drop it more. These aluminum Rockets are close in appearance and as a bonus much lighter than the steel Supremes.

    ...and now with the Rockets/Pinners

Still lots more to do, but really diggin' the 210. Its been my dream car since I was 14 y/o.

Man that car is clean clean. Really like the color and the wheel/tire. Very glad to see the trunklid took 90% of that hit, that could've easily totaled the car a few inches one way or the other, or at least made it a nightmare to fix. Nice job on the repair. Loser machine poster too :D:D:cool: hell yeah.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm very lucky. Good bones to start with anyway as I'm making a lot of changes. That being said, as you're probably well aware buying someone else's project has its pros and cons. Pros= normally you can save a ton of money. Cons= playing Dick Tracy to locate hidden issues, etc. Especially when its been through several owners since around 2005. I look at things and just shake my head...

As for the Loser Machine banner, haha, I have 2 Harleys collecting dust and taking up needed space now. Need to off them. Too many friends getting dead or injured. I quit cheating death about 4 years ago, which is weird because I've been on some kind of motorcycle since I was 5 y/o. I don't miss it...it's just weird.

In 2004, my brother Mike lost his life in a horrendous wreck (‘30 Model A coupe). Neither his son, nor stepson had much affection for his ‘55 Chevy 210. I bought the car & had it lettered as a tribyto his memory. It’s powered by a small block, dual 4 bbl carbs, 4 speed, & 4.10 posi 8D19A42B-A60C-4A82-855F-E35C00E9CE6A.jpeg 89F56CD0-7CA0-4879-A4D7-AA9D03B11EF4.jpeg A7648F61-37D4-445F-8400-FD1565E8B540.jpeg 40651872-2CDF-4E0F-83A9-03354A1C9E9C.jpeg 8D913B3D-0CC2-4034-B85D-A37D33D440FA.jpeg 2610DDFA-B37A-455C-8C4D-FED737ED7CE8.jpeg 22D126EE-3C71-4B69-9A05-3AA2B93CDCE7.jpeg

  21. I had a 55 210 in that color combo , Navaho Tan was the color , I always referred to it as the coffee with cream color.

I've had my 55 since 1977. It was originally Navaho Tan with India Ivory top, although when I bought it, it sported a navy blue lacquer paint job. It looked good in Navy blue but the lacquer had checked as lacquer does, so all the paint had to be stripped. I had it painted in 1978 and it still has that paint job on it. It could stand a repaint since it's showing it's age and because the bar has been raised regarding standards for body and paint, but with the current cost of body & paint work, I think it looks good enough. This was 2 days ago at a hot rodders' lunch get-together. IMG_0594.JPG

I haven’t seen that car in years and I was just thinking about it the other day! I did headers on it waaay back when I worked at Hedman. One of the few sportsman cars that we took in for custom work. We also did the Greenwood and Graylap “Wild Bunch” Chevelle, Larry Ofria’s Camaro, Tom Jacobsen’s Old Blue race cars. All were local standouts, and I really liked working with them.
I’m more of a ‘56 guy but I love this thread. Thanks Denny.

I think the Sanders 55 just has that timeless, simple, no frills racecar look about it.
The wheels, the stance and that sooo cool blue tinted Lexan make it spot on in my book.
