  3. The 'wood' trim is all fiberglass, wouldn't be too tough to modify... :D

  5. [IMG] As a young 57 Ford Car Guy seeing a Mercu 2d Ht station wagon the first time totally impressed me. What I didn't like was the Mercury with all that extra "stuff" all over the outside, and those headlights, oh my god. So, I went searching for the mate in the Ford line. It was a real let down when I finally accepted that Ford didn't make any hardtop wagons. Heck the neighbors across the street had a Chrysler New Yorker 4 door hardtop wagon. It was bad ass also but a Big Boat to be inside, (I will say it hauled ass).

Having already done some sheetmetal surgery I decided I should build my own 2d Ht Ford wagon. Then along came a 57 Country Squire wagon. There's a whole bunch between then and now like 2 separate attempts without actually cutting up any good builder cars. Fast forward and today I once again find myself with a 2d ht, as well as a Ranch Wagon both tucked away waiting for the Graph to become one vehicle. I also have all the Country Squire moldings including all the S.S. trim to do the Job. I feel well qualified to do the job in a quality metal finish and add a little twist to my first vision. The thing I don't have today is the Health and Time to get it done. If anyone following the post can visualize what I described actually done, have the time and "Wallet" to pull it off I might decide to pass on everything in one package to get you well on your way into Deep Water. If so send me a P.M. so not to hijack this thread.

From the movie "It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World". This shot is of the camera crew during filming when the '57 Ford that Jimmy Durante was driving as it crashed through the guardrail and "shot right out there".

If you have never seen this great movie you need to if you are any kind of a car person. It was released in 1964, features most comedians of the time and lots of era cars.

  10. Speaking of movies, I watched "Thunder Road" last night for what must be the umpteenth time. A lot of that movie was shot in the Asheville, N.C. area. A friend of mine who grew up in that area was there on location when they filmed the scene of the car exploding in the gas station.

Saw it when it came out as an elementary school kid. So many of the jokes were adult oriented , I laughed my ass off. Wish I had it on a cd.

  14. This is stinkin' cool, but (1) I'd bet these are scarce as hen's teeth, and (2) I'd never survive the import process!

It was an early design off a truck engine -

    FORD PN - B6T 9155-B

    1957 FORD & BIRD E-CODE

It used 5/16" hard line whereas the later style used 3/8" hard line.

I would post photos but not sure how (FNG)

57-58 Ford are way cool and lend themselves well to kustom work. Though I can never understand why people downgrade the engine by removing the y-block to fit a 289/302 or remove the cool looking dash to fit generic aftermarket gauges.

aussie57wag, mine never had a Y-block but a 223 straight 6. By the time I acquired my sedan it was a 351 Windsor with a c4. The 351 is worn out now so it’s getting a 302. I do like the looks of a Y-block all dressed out. 085C4C32-D8F5-46DF-AC1D-578E5A823BC1.jpeg
